CLEVELAND, Ohio, April 15, 2023 – CHAMP Titles (“CHAMP”), the leader in delivering advanced digital title and registration capabilities to DMVs, insurance carriers, and automotive retailers across the United States, announced today that Jon Ransom has been named chairman of CHAMP’s board effective immediately.
Bernie Moreno, who co-founded the company and had been serving in this role since the company’s start in 2018, has stepped down to pursue other opportunities. Moreno, in his capacity as Chairman, helped spur the growth and success of the company during his tenure. Additionally, Bernie has sold his entire stake in the company.
Ransom was the founder and CEO of Environmental Management Specialists, Inc. He started the company in 2001 and grew it to more than 200 employees when it was purchased by HEPACO in 2018. Ransom continues to serve on HEPACO’s board of directors. His well-regarded operational expertise makes him an outstanding fit on the board as CHAMP enters its biggest growth phase since its inception.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce Jon as chairman. I am certain his experience as a proven operator and leader at other innovative companies will serve us well,” said Shane McRann Bigelow, CEO of CHAMP. “We are grateful to Bernie for his contributions. He has been a strong leader of our board and an astute mentor to our team. His industry insights have been valuable in positioning us for long- term success.”
“What an exciting moment to be joining CHAMP’s board,” said Ransom. “I have followed the company closely since its founding, originally as an early investor, and they are unquestionably revolutionizing the vehicle titling and registration space for the better. I thrive on working with pioneering, sustainable companies and am thrilled to be joining another today. I look forward to helping the company continue to grow and succeed under the leadership of Shane and its talented team.”
